Russia
I think it was when I was nearing my time traveling through the Moscow Museum of the Great Patriotic War that I realized how deeply I'd fallen for the Russian nation. This country which has never fallen, the strength of its people, the size of its scope, and the people I met drew me in. I loved so much of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and so much of the country I saw east of the Urals as well. Of course, the Russian people welcome us so warmly that by the time it's time to go home we certainly are never ready to go.

Itinerary
day 1 - Depart USA
day 2 - Arrive moscow. rest for the evening at hotel.
Day 3 - Tour moscow including the kremlin, lenin's tomb, poklonnaya hill, and more.
Day 4 - take the day to explore moscow a bit more on your own, using the beautiful and easy to navigate metro stations. evening depart on train overnight rain for novgorod.
day 5 - tour novgorod and experience the customary russian banya. overnight novgorod
Day 6 - depart novgorod for st petersburg. arrive st petersburg and rest evening.
Day 7 - tour st petersburg, including church on the blood, hermitage museum, and more.
Day 8 - depart st petersburg either for usa or for smaller city east of ural mountains
ptional extension - hike ural mountains
day 8 - arrive east of Ural mountains, overnight in hotel
day 9 - day hike to more isolated villages in eastern Russia, visit more industrialized areas, hike into Ural Mountains
Day 10 - depart for USA
